Nervous-System–Informed Therapy for Safety, Connection, and Repair
Individual & Couples Therapy in Show Low, AZ and Telehealth Across Arizona
Trauma-Informed Psychotherapy for Adults and Couples
Embodied Alignment Therapy provides nervous-system–informed psychotherapy for adults and couples seeking meaningful, sustainable change. Therapy focuses on emotional regulation, relational safety, and repair—especially when stress, trauma, medical experiences, or long-term strain have made connection feel difficult or unsafe.
This work is well suited for individuals and couples who feel stuck despite insight, communication skills, or prior therapy and are seeking a deeper, body-based approach to healing.
Therapy for Anxiety, Trauma, and Relationship Strain
I work with adults and couples navigating a wide range of concerns, including:
Anxiety, chronic stress, and nervous-system overwhelm
Emotional shutdown, numbness, or disconnection
People-pleasing, fawning responses, and boundary difficulties
Conflict cycles, reactivity, avoidance, or emotional distance in relationships
Trauma- and stress-related nervous-system patterns
Neurodivergent nervous systems, including ADHD-related regulation and connection challenges
Difficulty trusting internal signals or staying present under stress
When Insight Isn’t Enough
Many clients come to therapy with a strong understanding of their patterns. They know what is happening—and often why—yet still feel unable to change.
In many cases, this isn’t a lack of motivation, effort, or communication skills.
It’s a nervous system issue.
When the nervous system is overwhelmed or protective, insight alone isn’t enough. Therapy supports the gradual restoration of safety so emotional access, regulation, and connection can return—without pressure, force, or performance.
A Nervous-System–Informed Therapy Approach
My clinical work is grounded in an understanding of how nervous-system states shape:
Emotional regulation
Attachment and relational patterns
Intimacy and desire
Conflict, repair, and trust
Sessions are collaborative, paced, and respectful of the body’s protective responses. Clients are never asked to relive traumatic experiences or push beyond what their nervous system can tolerate.
Change unfolds through regulation, consistency, and lived relational experience over time.
Is This Therapy a Good Fit?
This practice may be a good fit if you:
Value depth-oriented, trauma-informed therapy
Prefer a non-pathologizing, nervous-system–aware lens
Want sustainable change rather than quick fixes
Are open to exploring how safety and regulation shape patterns
Appreciate clear boundaries and thoughtful pacing
What to Expect in Therapy
Early sessions typically focus on stabilization, regulation, and building safety. As capacity increases, therapy may move toward emotional expression, relational repair, trust, and intimacy—always at a pace your nervous system can support.
Common signs of progress include:
Greater ability to stay present during stress
Reduced reactivity or emotional shutdown
Increased emotional clarity and range
Stronger self-trust
More ease in daily life and relationships
Level of Care Considerations
This practice is intentionally limited in size to support depth-oriented work and ongoing doctoral research. Clients seeking crisis stabilization, intensive skills-based treatment, or high-frequency support may be referred to a more appropriate level of care.
